I'm a big fan of Royal Carribean; I've taken 2 cruises to the islands with them. I just got their latest literature and they talk about free "comprehensive supervised children (3 mo to 17 years) programs" year-round. I don't think it would appeal to an older teen but it sure would be great for the kids. Imagine quiet time by the pool while the kids are busy with activities. Talk about a great vacation!

I always find great deals online. It's so convenient and reliable. No calls back and forth to a travel agent. If something is available I know immediately and there's no pressure selling either.

I found another option for taking grandchildren then! I thought the Disney cruise was a good idea, now Royal Caribbean.

I like using this web site.

I sailed with Royal Caribbean just two months ago and don't remember there being any supervision for children of this kind so maybe it's something they're planning for the 2006 season?

To be honest, there weren't THAT many children onboard while we were there, at least not compared with some cruises we've taken.

Based on the cruises that I've taken, the kid's activity area is usually tucked away in an inconspicuous spot probably to isolate the noise and mayhem!

The teen area, especially the teen nightclub or disco, is discretely hidden as well.

If you're not traveling with kids, there really isn't any need to seek out the kid's activity areas so Vera you just might have been too busy with adult activities to even notice the kid's area!
