Has anyone else been watching the TV series on Travel Channel about refitting an RCCL ship? Isn't it amazing the amount of work the cruise lines do to refurrbish a ship to make it fresh and nice again?

What did you think about them fixing the clock that's never worked since the ship was built?

I'm a fan of RCCL - I've taken several cruises with them so I liked seeing how a ship gets refitted. That's an important tip for new cruisers. Look for when the last time the ship was refitted or refurbished. Even though the ships are kept spotless, everything looks so fresh and new right after a major upgrade.

I always feel like a royal princess on a Royal Carribean cruise!

I watched the final episode of the refurbishing of the Sovereign of the Seas. The ship was remodeled at the end of 2004. The before and after pictures of each of the main areas were quite amazing! I especially loved seeing the new grand reception area.

I thought that it was interesting that RCCL changed the theatre seating from individual seats to lounge-type couch seating. With so many passengers that like to go to the shows, you'd think that RCCL will lose capacity for the shows. People will sit in individual seats close to each other and fill in a row but won't want to share a couch with strangers. Oh well, that was RCCL's management decision.

I'll have to see when Sovereign of the Seas is sailing!
