Isla Mujeres is a five-mile long narrow island only 6 miles (30 minutes by boat) from Cancún. If you’ve selected a Cancún vacation because you love sun and surf, then a trip to Isla Mujeres is a must. There are spectacular ocean views of azure waters from any beach location. The northern beach area, Playa de los Cocos, is the most popular beach on the island. This area features all types of water sports for the active beach-goer. The secluded southern beach area, Playa Lancheros, offers swimming and a glimpse at live sea turtles. The most famous area is Playa Garrafon, which is home to a protected shallow reef that has a reputation as one of the most exquisite reefs in the world.
If you are into snorkeling, this is a must on your list of places to visit. It's at the upper end of the fantastic reef area on the east coast of Central America and Mexico. You have to see the wonders for yourself to appreciate their beauty!!!!
