Freestyle Cruising means freedom of choice. Norwegian's fleet of first-class ships offers up to 10 restaurants serving everything from tapas and sushi to gourmet French and Italian. Dress for dinner is "resort casual," and formal nights are optional. With the Mandara Spa, Lifestyle Program, and Kid's Crew activities, the choices are endless.

I loved the Freestyle Cruising too! My friends on other cruises talked about eating with assigned seating on time and meeting boring people. Not with freestyle dining - you eat like in a restaurant whenever you want and with whoever you want. Gosh, the meals were fantastic - I had to try everything!
The food on the islands was great too. We went to the beach party on the island of Roatan. Such a pretty beach with great snorkeling and lessons too. Terrific bbq chicken and drinks brought to you on the beach all day. Can't wait to get back there!!!!!!

Norwegian Cruise Line has added two new ships for 2005. The Norwegian Jewel is being introduced to routes all around the world for 2005. The Spirit of America is the first American registry passenger ship in decades and will have an all American crew. The Spirit of America will spend all of its days cruising the Hawaiian Islands. What a way to enjoy warm islands, aboard a brand new five-star ship.

Freestyle dining absoulutely sounds like the way to go. I hate people telling me what to do, and having someone tell me where to sit and when to eat is not something I want to spend a lot of money to do! Is Norweigan the only cruise line that offers this, or is it the norm? And what does resort casual mean? Is that like business casual with spagetti straps and silver shoes?

OMG! I so agree! This is one of the reason's I really don't like "all inclusive" holidays because you have to be at breakfast for a certain time, dinner at a certain time, dine in that place and eat this or that. Nope, that's not for me at all.
For me, a holiday means the freedom to do exactly what I want and when I want.

I always love the freestyle cruise vacations. you can enjoy anything you want and have everything your way. No breakfast, lunch and diner limits. Just you planning and experiencing it.

I'm glad there's more people out there like me. It drove me insane my first few cruises being told what to do and when and with whom. I'm way to much of a free-spirit for that. Appreciate the concept of "freestyle". Do all cruise lines offer this?
