All the kids are gone..... what would a couple enjoy about Disney Cruises?

Disney has done cruises just like Disney does everything, magically! Lots of adults go to Disney World without kids, so they would enjoy a Disney Cruise as a couple as well.
If you enjoy meeting Disney characters at Disney World, you'll find them walking the decks of the sister ships Disney Wonder and Disney Magic. I've watched the documentary on TV about the design of these ships. Everything about them competes with the major cruise lines in the way of features and amenities.
Nighttime entertainment is G rated but so is it on other cruise lines. They say if you like the shows at Disney World, you'll love the shows on a Disney cruise.

Some of us remain kids at heart forever and enjoy the whimsy of Disney. I've loved every minute spent at Disney World so I'm sure I'd love a Disney cruise as well. I am intrigued by the little pats of butter at Disney World that are shaped like Mickey ears so I'm sure I be tickled by a ship filled with Disney decor. There are supposed to be Mickey's hidden in the decorations everywhere. Some of us would have fun just looking for Mickey's.
If gambling is your cruise preference, look elsewhere; there is no casino aboard the Disney ships. But there are shows and the evening dining experiences are a one-of-a-kind experience with coordinated lights, sound and music.
Kids of all ages love everything Disney. And there is the convenience of seemlessly combining a Disney World trip with a Disney cruise; your luggage disappears from one place and reappears at the next leg of your Disney trip while you ride the Disney bus, all included in the price.

I hear that if you want to enjoy adult dining on Disney, you'd better book all of your meals for the whole cruise in the adult only restaurants as soon as you get on board the ship. That's how popular adult only dining is.
My husband and I (both babyboomers) were going to take our first cruise on Disney, thinking that Disney would be a good experience until I read this in a couple of reviews. We decided against Disney and have enjoyed cruises on cruise lines that while family friendly are more adult oriented.

You've given me a great idea - take my grandchildren on a Disney cruise. It would be easier than taking them to Disney World.
On the cruise aren't there activities for the kids so I could stay by the pool or do adult activities instead?
It's so hard to find places to eat at Disney world; the cost of food is so high. We'd get all meals included in the cost of the cruise.

Now I like kids as much as anyone, but did you read the average ratio of adults to kids on a Disney cruise is another thread?
Expect there to be around 1,000 kids on the avarage Disney cruise.
I'd think if an empty nest couple is looking for a romantic or getaway cruise, they might prefer a different cruise line.

You would be the coolest grandma EVER!!!
When we went, there were activites for the kids. It reminded me of summer camp or something. There was *so* much to keep the kids busy while the adults had their own time.
You definitely have to be OK with kids being *all over the place*, though. It definintely isn't a quiet cruise! :p

I was curious about this too. I love the sound of it since I'm a kid at heart but I don't know if I could cope with all those kids and if there would be enough to do.

We are thinking about doing a disney cruies with our kids hopefully next year. As much as I love Disneyworld if I was going to take a cruise without my kids I don't think I would take this one. Not because I don't think it would be fun, I would just prefer a cruise that was not geared more toward kids, if I was just going with me and my husband.

Unless you have a great love for all children then a Disney cruise is probably best left to families with small children.

I really do believe that everyone can enjoy, especially if there are no kids, just my opinion, you can have a great time with just you and your mate and not feel too much in a child zone.

What I can't figure out is a friend of mine going on a Disney Cruise for their honeymoon. Are there different kinds of Disney cruises? I would call a kid-allover-the-place honeymoon the anti-conception cruise.
