We Love St. Lucia!

The locals are a riot. Kind of pushy at times trying to sell their local trinkets but, quite frankly, we love the jewelry they claim to make locally out of the volcanic rock. It is really fun negotiating with them for a price. I never want to take advantage of them, but the fun is saying no to them when they give you a price, walking away, and then they either chase you down, or yell, "come on back". I got several necklaces that were beautiful for $5 each and they started out at $14 each. (They were worth the $14) Don't go there without playing the game:-)

It's like going to Thailand. I've been in Thailand a few times before and it's a thrill going out shopping the Thai way. They sell anything and everything and all you need to communicate is a calculator or a pen and paper. You bargain, I bought a $50 item at just $30!
