Coral or Island Princess

Hi. We are planning a trip to the Panama Canal. Does anyone have an opinion of which ship is better - the Coral Princess or the Island Princess?

From what I have gathered those who have cruised on the Coral Princess feel it is a bit crowded in the public areas and pools. Also common is that the food is not special, its good, but not spectacular.

It seems overall, the Island Princess rates a bit higher. Common is people like the cabins on this ship except for what seem to be small showers. and the Horizon Court has a nice buffet except that the flow of traffic for getting your food is poorly designed.

I have sailed on Princess and remember that my wife and I also felt the way they had you gather your food while at the buffet seemed to be strange.

Are you absolutely stuck on Princess? Is this your first cruise?
