Do most Haitians still speak French or are there many people who live there who also speak English? It seems like such a poor country that I am not sure there would be an emphasis on being bilingual but I would love to hear from pthers who have visited there.

I have not personally visited there but have friends who went down to adopt a child and said that most everything was conducted in French. Luckily they spoke a bit of the language so they were fine but said this would definitely be helpful if traveling there.
