A Vacation To St. John

Has anyone on this forum been to St. John??
What did you think? Was it an expensive place to visit?
I heard it was pretty expensive but beautiful.
Any ideas or suggestions? Like staying in St. Thomas and going on a ferry to St. John. Would that be better?:confused:

Yes, we have visited St. John. I think it is the prettiest of the USVI's. We took a catamaran there a few years back for a day trip and went snorkeling, beach bumming, and rumming :-) We had a blast. If I remember you can reach it only vis ferry from St Thomas.
