If you ever go to Nevis, you will find out that there is a departure tax of $22.50 in US dollars.
Some other countries do this as well...perhaps an airport departure tax or an enterance fee.
I guess one way or another they will get there money!
And...it's worth every penny. Just make sure you set some money aside so that you can leave the island. Or perhaps you may be tempted not to. ;)
