The Beautiful Islands Of French Polynesia

Included in the French Polynesian Islands are Marquesas, Gambier, Australs, Society Islands, Tuamotu Islands, and Australs. Furthermore, the islands are known for their white sandy beaches, volcanic peaks and valleys. The beauty of the French Polynesia is something worth visiting for the first time, and is definitely worth coming back for.

The Society Island is home to the famous islands Tahiti and Bora Bora. In Tahiti, travelers have a lot of sites to choose from. Here you can visit the Harrison Smith Botanical Garden and The Museum of Tahiti and her Islands. You may also choose to visit the Lagoonarium, or the famous Gauguin Museum where you can view the artists’ paintings. Tahiti also offers snorkeling, diving, horseback riding, surfing, wind surfing and deep-sea fishing. Bora-Bora, which is also found in the Society Island, is home to breath-taking lagoon and white sand beaches. On your way to Bora-Bora you can spot the beauty of the little islands and multi-colored lagoons lined with white sand. You can also see Mount Otemanu as you approach.

Tuamotu Islands is another archipelago located in the French Polynesia. Here you will find different atolls and some of the largest known to the world namely Rangiroa, Manihi, and Fakarava. Snorkeling and scuba diving excursions are also the main attractions where you can see colorful fishes of different shapes and sizes. Sharks can also be seen during scuba diving activities.

The Marquesas Islands hosts 12 volcanic islands, 6 of them are only inhabited by 7,000 people. The islands of Nuku Hiva, Hiva Oa, Ua Pou, Ua Huka, Tahuta, and Futu Hiva can be found here. From a distance, you’ll be able to see tops of the volcanoes. Tourists will find accommodations only in the islands of Huku Hiva and Hiva Oa. Ways o enjoy the beauty of Marquesas is through mountain biking, renting a landrover, horse-back riding and hiking. Deep sea fishing and sailing is also available for the avid tourist in some parts of Marquesas. One must visit the artisan shops that offer different selections of perfumed oils, tapa hangings and wood carvings.

If you prefer Yachting; there are a variety of yachts available for rent. The Archipels shared-yacht Cruising offers a 57ft catamaran yacht with 1600sq ft of free space.. It can fit a maximum of 8 guests which ideally shares the cost for renting the yacht. It also comes with an experienced crew, four cabins and private facilities.

The Aranui Freighter Cruise also ferries travelers from Tahiti to Marquesas. It is a working freighter that can hold 80 passengers. Booking a seat at the Aranui should be done ahead of time as there are a lot of tourists who also want to experience what the freighter can offer. Part of the package includes landfall to different parts of the remote Marquesas. You will have a chance to visit different villages in the different parts of the remote islands. The Haumana Cruises is also another way to tour the islands in the French Polynesia. It is a twin-hulled cruise ship that gives a yacht-like feel.
