Water Sports
Due to the wonderful reefs that surround the island, many students from all over the world come here to study marine life and biology as well as the biology of the reef itself. So, South Caicos is a meca for those who love to reef dive and snorkel. If swimming with marine life along beautiful stretches of coast line is something you love as well, here is the perfect island to do it on! Fishing is also a main water sport here as well, with plenty of tours and guides offering deep sea fishing, bone fishing, and just fishing in general, you can find what tickles your fancy here in South Caicos.
Island Diversity
At the turn of the century, South Caicos was known for it's salt industry. It was also known as a haven for some of the most infamous pirates of the era! While diving around the island waters, you can still see some of the old ballasts and other items that were thrown overboard when boats approached the island to pick up their haul of salt. There are many different stories about sailors and pirates floating around the island, so be sure to catch up on some of them before you head home!
