Sofitel Tahiti Resort

Tahiti is the largest island located in French Polynesia and has a population of about 130,000 people. The people here speak French and Tahitian; however, English is widely understood in the tourist areas. When you are planning your trip to Tahiti, you need to book your trip early. Accommodations and flights are limited, especially if you want to stay in an over the water bungalow on a specific island.

When traveling to Tahiti, you can’t beat staying at the Sofitel Tahiti Resort. It is located on the west coast of Tahiti and is only a few minutes away from downtown Papeete. Recently, it went through some extensive refurbishment and now features 216 light-filled, stylish rooms, each having its own private balcony. You can choose a room with a spectacular view of the mountains or a tranquil view of the lagoon. This wonderful resort has two restaurants, a bar, tennis courts, a golfing range, a fresh water swimming pool, and a private beach.

The Le Moorea bar has a snack bar and musical entertainment to make your night fun. If you are hungry, then try one of the two restaurants located right in the resort. If international cuisine is to your liking, then try Le Bougainville. It is a lovely restaurant that is open to the outdoors with a gorgeous veiw of the lagoon. They serve both local and international cuisine and have themed activities. However, if you are in the mood for Japanese cuisine, then you should visit Le Sakura. This is a Japanese teppan yaki restaurant and it is fully air conditioned and serves you up a high quality show cooking.

The Sofitel Tahiti Resort has 216 rooms, two suites, and two reduced mobility rooms. If you have children, then one will get to stay free. Each room is air conditioned with a mini bar, a safety deposit box in the room, a phone and voicemail , a radio, satellite TV, and wireless internet access. The hotel offers many services to you, some with additional charges. You can get baby sitting upon request if you and your mate want to get some alone time. There is a lovely gift shop and newspaper shop. If you need something dry cleaned or ironed, they offer that, too. The languages spoken at the resort are English, French, Italian, and Spanish.

There are many activities for you to enjoy at the Sofitel Tahiti Resort. You can relax at the outdoor unheated pool if you are wanting to kick back for a while. If you want to play golf, they have a great 18 hole golf course or you can even take golf lessons. Would you like to take advantage of your private beach? You can also go on boat excursions or enjoy some exhilarating water skiing. Go deep sea fishing or enjoy a ride in a glass bottom boat. With its quick tennis court or its two outdoor tennis courts, you can get in some good exercise and practice or take a few tennis lessons to get you started.
