Morea Pearl Resort and Spa

Moorea, a triangle shaped island, is Polynesia’s second most tourist attraction. It is located only twelve miles west of Tahiti and it is surrounded by a lagoon of translucent green and the Polynesian sea. It covers an area of about 51 square miles. There are many reasons that Moorea is very popular with the tourists. First is the majestic interior mountains. Also, it is has spectacular expanses of both white and black sand beaches. The beaches here are among the finest in the world.

One of the best places to stay in Moorea is the beautiful Pearl Resort and Spa. Staying here is like staying on your own tropical island. This is the perfect place to go for the couple that wants to get away from it all. The Pearl Resort and Spa has ninety-five Polynesian bungalows, seaside hutes, and duplex garden rooms. All have thatched roofs, hardwood flooring, and wicker furniture.

If you are hungry, then pay a visit to the resorts restaurant, Mahanai Restaurant. It overlooks the beach and the pool, giving you a lovely view as you dine. It offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and on Wednesday, they have a Polynesian Evening that includes a traditional Polynesian show and fire dancers. On Saturday, The Sea is the theme and they serve a delicious seafood buffet with the Polynesian show. If you are looking for gourmet food, then try the Le Matiehani Restaurant. It serves both international and local specialties. Autera is a pool side bar that serves drinks and light fare. There is something for everyone’s palate.

How would you like to have your wedding at the Moorea Pearl Resort and Spa. They have authentic Polynesian weddings and renewal of vows ceremonies. For example, the Pa’i Miti Beach Wedding has the couple travel to the beach in two canoes. The resort also has packages for an Iti Roa Mahana Underwater Wedding that provides diving equipment, a private boat with music and flowers, a table and two chairs to use underwater, champagne, and a mother-of-pearl-shell that is engraved with the bride and groom’s names and their wedding date.

There are many activities to keep you busy if you do not want to sit around and relax. They offer excellent snorkeling along the coral reef below the bungalows. You could also enjoy some fabulous swimming in their turquoise-bottomed pool. The guests are provided with kayaks and snorkeling equipment if they want it and you could always go on a scuba diving excursion. If all else fails, there is always shopping, banks, and restaurants nearby. You will never be at a loss for something to do.
