The Federated States of Micronesia is an island nation that is located in the Pacific Ocean. It is north of Papua New Guinea. It is a sovereign state that is in free association with the United States of America. Originally, they were part of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands; however, in 1979, they adopted a constitution and in 1986, they attained their independence under a compact of Free Association with the United States. The Federated States of Micronesia are found in the region that is known as Micronesia, which is made up of hundreds of small islands that are divided up into seven territories. These islands are the heart of Micronesia. The four states that the islands make up are the State of Yap, State of Chuuk, State of Pohnpei, and the State of Kosrae.

You will find one of the world’s best shipwrecks here, a major shipwreck site from World War II. The many hard and soft corals cast a kaleidoscope of colors under the water and attract divers the world over for both nighttime and daytime diving.
Pohnpei is the largest island in the Federation States of Micronesia, not to mention the tallest. Annually, its peaks get more than enough rainfall and this has created more than 40 rives that feed the abundant rain forest. The spectacular waterfalls will take your breath away. You could even find camping areas at a few of the sites if you love to hear the sound of the waterfalls as you sleep under the beautiful night sky. After a long hike in the hills, you will love to soak in the cooling streams.
The island of Kosrae is best known for its virgin reef and crystal clear waters. You will more than 172 species of hard corals and 10 species of soft corals here at Kosrae. The marine life here is beautiful. You will get to see plenty of bottleneck dolphins since they are prone to living on the coast and sometimes you may even be able to spot a whale. There are plenty of shipwrecks for divers to explore. If you are up for an adventure, then you should try Mt. Finkol. It is the tallest mountain in Kosrae and it is worth exploring during your stay here.
