Where To Eat While On Your Cruise

Cruise liners have made dining on a cruise so pleasurable that the only problem you’ll have on your days at sea is trying to find time trying out your favorite foods from all the restaurants. Over the past few years, there have been great developments in the cruise dining scene, to satisfy the needs of travelers who have discerning tastes in food. Nowadays you will be able to find chic, upscale fine-dining restaurants onboard cruises that are at par with those on land. Because of this, dining is a major attraction in choosing cruise ships for their reputation in serving great food. On the other hand, there are also a variety of restaurants with a casual atmosphere and food to match. Burgers, fries, a variety of sandwiches… Name it, and they’ve got it.

Carnival Cruise Lines has its Total Choice Dining, which includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and specialty menus. Their Supper Club is a favorite dinner destination for its cruisers, with its plush interiors and wide range of mouthwatering entrees, and dessert, but with a reservations-only policy that completes an intimate dining experience. The Carnival Cruise restaurants also have an extensive range of wine and spirits to complement their dishes. Casual dining is enjoyed outdoors, accompanied by a breathtaking view at the Lido Deck restaurants.

The Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines have specialty dining options that include elegant and casual choices. The Portofino Italian Restaurant serves up authentic Italian dishes, while Chops Grille is known for its delicious steak. You can reserve a seat or table through the cruise’s website up to 10 days prior to departure.

Norwegian Cruise Lines is famous for their Freestyle Dining, which allows guests to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner anytime they please. The cruise ships also have 13 specialty restaurants, each with its own mouthwatering signature dish. Some of these include Cagney’s steakhouse; Le Bistro, a French restaurant, and its infamous buffet area where you can have your favorite dishes customized any way you’d like.

Princess Cruises has Personal Choice Dining, with a variety of restaurants in each of their ships. They all follow a new tradition called Anytime Dining, so that guests can eat at any restaurant at anytime of their choice. Just some of their specialty restaurants include an Ice Cream bar, Sterling Steakhouse, an outdoor Pizzeria, and a Main Dining Room.

With all these and more, guests have virtually limitless options when it comes to choosing a venue for dining on a cruise. This goes together with the bars and lounges on cruise ships, which serve delicious finger food and snacks with a variety of refreshments to choose from. If you’re looking for something in particular, do your homework ahead of time and research which cruise ships serve the specialty foods you are looking for. And if you want to dine in the privacy of your own stateroom or suite, there’s always room service which is just a few clicks away.
