Although it may be some months before people will have to experience the elegance of Costa Pacifica since its grand launching is still slated in 2009 at springtime, so together with the birth of a new season comes the birth of a new ship that is destined to be one of the largest Italian passenger vessels (other very large vessels under Costa Cruises include Costa Concordia and Costa Serena).
With a length of 290 meters, the upcoming Costa Pacifica is targeting to accommodate 3,780 passengers and treat them to an unforgettable voyage experience at a speed of 21. 5 knots (the maximum speed it could have is at 23 knots).
The specific features of Costa Pacifica include the following:
The Cabins
There are a total of 1,504 cabins to which more than half of them (521 to be exact) have their own private balconies (58 of these are suites). Also, cabins that have direct access to the ship’s spa number to 91 to which a dozen of them are suites.
The Restaurants
The ship will have a total of five restaurants two of which are the following:
- Club Blue Moon
- Samsara Restaurant (prior reservations are required here but for those who are staying at Samsara Cabins and Samsara Suites, they could dine in here for free)
The Bars
There will be a total of 13 bars that would be serving guests with various cocktail mixes. The extensive line-up of bars will also include the following:
- a Chocolate and Coffee Bar
- a Cigar and Cognac Bar
The Well-Being Centre
The Samsara Spa (‘samsara’ means ‘steam bath’) is situated on two decks and covers a spacious area of 6,000 sq. m. Perfect for those passengers who got stressed out or beaten down by the excursions and are in dire need for some physical rejuvenation. The spa offers the following:
- a Thalasso pool
- a solarium that is coated with UVA protection
- a sauna and steam room (perfect for those who favor steam baths for those tired and sore muscles)
- treatment rooms (where those massages and different beauty treatments are given)
Other Amenities and Highlights:
- a gym (with basic fitness equipment like stair steppers, stationary bikes and aerobics center)
- Jacuzzis (there are five)
