Costa Mediterranea

Bookmark and Share

If there is one gigantic piece of art that floats in the sea, then it might be the Costa Mediterranea. The 16th and 17th century palaces in Italy served as inspirations for the abundant works of art that litter the cruise ship. Impressively attractive sculptures of dancers decorate the main hall of the ship while there are 139 silver artworks that adorn the notable Argentieri Restaurant. The main hall also has glass for its ceiling, so the natural beauty of the vast blue sky is very evident even in this covered part of the ship.

Costa Mediterranea was built in 2003 and composed of more than 900 crew members of international citizenships that are all fully trained to render only first-class service befitting a world-class cruise ship. Up to 2,114 passengers can be accommodated by the ship and these travelers can fill in the 1,057 elegant cabins of the ship. For those passengers who experienced traveling via a Carnival-operated cruise line might notice that the interiors of Mediterranea are almost the same as those in Carnival cruise ships. Well, the chief architect of Carnival Cruise Lines is also the one responsible for the stunning interior designs of Mediterranea. The person being referred to here is the reputed interior ship architect, Joe Farcus.

Though the “scent” of Italy lingers everywhere in this ship, voyagers from different parts of the world never mind a bit since the overall amiable atmosphere makes everyone aboard like one big happy family enjoying each other’s company.

The specific features of Costa Mediterranea include the following:

The Cabins

  2. Balcony (Wellness with Grand Veranda, Wellness with Veranda, Veranda Stateroom) - The standard features are almost the same as the ones found in suites.
