Costa Europa
From a name that reminds people of an ancient Greek poet to a name that almost sounds like the capital city of the Netherlands, the cruise ship formerly known as MS Homeric and MS Westerdam is now referred to a more familiar name that exudes class, grandeur, refinement and utmost world-class appeal and distinction, Costa Europa.
The cruise ship became a part of Costa Cruises in April 2002, and since then it has been catering to those who have international taste in cruising and seek a classier voyage in the sea. Its numerous elegant rooms provide just the right intimate atmosphere for couples. The Argo Lounge, one of the lounges in the ship that is pleasing to the eyes is impressively distinct because it is so full of character, and one of its frequented sections is the Delo Cognac & Cigar Bar. The sculptures found are made of bronze and product of Chinese craftsmanship while Flemish artists are behind some of the displayed works of art.
The Europa cruise ship is also fully aware of its passengers who endlessly delight in outdoor fun and activities that’s why its swimming pool deck attracts those who want to take a quick dip or a longer stay without worries of getting sunburned since the pool has a retractable roof perfect for those who can’t get satisfied with just mere sunscreen lotion. For the sports lover types, anyone can enjoy a round of basketball, volleyball or tennis with the ship’s multi-purpose sports court. So how’s that for an active sea voyage?
The decks located outside make one embrace the warmth of the gleaming sunshine. There are a total of 11 decks found on the ship and nine of these decks are for passengers. On board, it is exciting to find out that the ship adapted a Greek mythology theme with decks named as Andromeda, Hercules, Sirens, Perseus and Orion. It’s magnificent ball room with circular dance floor is named Medusa.
