Water Sports
In the Solomon Islands, there are so many water sports that you just won’t know what to do first. While there are so many islands, each one offers a different set of beautiful beaches to explore, swim with marine life, or just catch some rays. Some of the other great water sports that you can enjoy while here include: surfing, diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, fishing, skiing, jet skiing, boating, sailing, boat rentals, and glass bottom boat tours. There are also many different companies who offer charter service to the smaller islands, as well as tours around the ocean waters that surround the multitude of islands that make up the Solomons.

Island Diversity
The melanesian people have called these islands their home for over 30,000 years, and have a very rich culture and traditional background in these islands. Although many other cultures have come and gone and left their mark here, some of the richness of their traditions have rubbed off, creating a diverse, unique culture that is all the Solomon’s own. From Polynesian settlers to European traders, just about everyone has been through the Solomons and left their mark here on the people. With the labor trade in full swing in the 1800’s, a dark shadow was cast over the natives of the Solomons, and it wasn’t until the United Kingdom made these islands their protectorate that things finally calmed down. Then, the outbreak of World War II made these islands a prime spot for battles and fighting, so many natives were relocated to Australia to keep them safe. But today, the Solomon islands are once again rich in their own native culture, and a joy to visit and witness.

If you just aren’t into water sports or island hopping today, there are many other activities that you can enjoy on the Solomon Islands. From the wonderful native arts and crafts to the historical monuments and sites, there are so many different things to do here. Some of the activities that you can enjoy while staying here include: shopping the local markets, historical sites and tours, car, bicycle, and scooter rentals, dining at local restaurants, shows, plantation tours, and many others. There will never be a shortage of things to do or see in the Solomons, no matter how long you stay!
