Nothing is more romantic than a wedding, and nothing adds to the beauty and excitement of the occasion, than to get married in an exotic location, while on one of the many wedding cruises offered by the best cruise ship lines.

Wedding cruises are very special occasions, and as such, are taken seriously by the cruise ships and their staff. According to the line you have chosen to sail on, your package can be anything from the basic ceremony and honeymoon cruise for the couple, to an expanded package that includes the entire reception, and accommodations for a specified number of guests, with discounts for bookings by others attending the wedding.

Depending on the location, most lines will permit guest who are not cruising with them, to come aboard for the ceremony and any reception afterwards. Getting married at sea, is no longer done. Weddings are required to be performed on board while in a port, or on land at one of your destinations. The sole exceptions are Crystal Cruises and Cunard Lines, which do not permit onboard ceremonies. Also, only the Princess Cruise line offers a ceremony conducted by the captain.

Most wedding packages will supply a person to conduct the ceremony, or you may bring a minister with you as part of the wedding party. Packages vary greatly in price, according to what the couple wants to pay for. It is perfectly acceptable to book one of their wedding cruises, while having the reception catered on shore at a port of call.

Whatever special arrangements you wish to make for the occasion, almost all lines will provide a wedding coordinator to help you with the details. Say "I do" on a South Pacific Island, or a hilltop in Italy. The way you celebrate should be as special as the occasion, and wedding cruises are one way to make it exactly what you want.
