The Beef Islands are located on the eastern tip of Tortola and joined by the Queen Elizabeth bridge. This beautiful island is home to the Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport, which is the main airport for the British Virgin Islands. Since there are no direct flights into this airport, vacationers fly into one of the major Caribbean hubs like Puerto Rico or St. Thomas and board a connecting flight to this airport.

They all give you a gorgeous view of the Sir Francis Drake Channel. You can eat alfresco at the restaurant and bar while you overlook the free-form pool.

There are many good restaurants on Beef Island. One of these is the ever popular Trellis Bay beach restaurant and bar. They occasionally have live music to accompany their good food and delicious snacks. Sunday night is the ultimate night to go. That night they feature local musicians to go along with their excellent Bar-B-Que. They are only open Tuesday through Sunday so keep that in mind when you are looking for somewhere to eat. If they are closed you can just walk down the beach to the next restaurant.

There are many wonderful local shops to find anything you are looking for and the local artists are excellent. You are sure to find the perfect gift to take back home to your loved ones. You may want to pay a visit to Pusser’s. This is not only a specialty shop but it is also a bar and club. It is located on the West End of Tortola. Soper’s Hole is also located on the West End and is a marina and shop that specializes in Caribbean crafts and special mementos to take back home with you so you will remember this trip forever.
