The Nightlife Of Ibiza

The Nightlife Of Ibiza Hotels in Ibiza

Known for it's nightlife and clubbing, Ibiza is the undisputed Party Capital of the World. Ibiza has a hedonistic heritage stretching back more than 30 years. Top clubs, on-form DJs, hot bands, a cosmopolitan mix of clubers, local residents, freaks, mature party goers, fresh faces, a wide range of sexualities, and the full alphabet of celebrities. There is a wide choice of music: overground, underground, rock, house, hip-hop, techno, electro, R&B and, of course, chill. This is the home of the "sunset set".

Club Privilege is the worlds largest club located halfway between Ibiza and San Rafael on the main road, and it has an interesting history. In 1987 Queen's Freddy Mercury sang a duet with rival diva opera singer Montserrat Caballe for a TV show broadcast around the world. In 1990 a roof was added, literally bringing to a close an era of outdoors partying. In 1991 this roof collapsed during a storm and after much refurbishing, it became Club Privilege. The arrival of manumission in 1996 heralded the modern age of imported promoters, guest artists and mass club tourism. Inside the club is a sight to behold. Upon entering the club, you go down a huge staircase, which takes you to the middle of the one of the world's largest dance floors. At the center is a DJ suspended above a swimming pool. To the left is a multi-leveled chill out area. Downstairs is a toilet, complete with a DJ booth (really!!) and to the right is the Coco Loco and farther on is the Music Box. It is very easy to get lost so there is a map on the sign out front.

According the website of the club Amnesia, the house where Amnesia stands became home to hippies in the late 60's and 70's who played in bands and danced till dawn while experimenting with LSD and "touching the heavens". In 1976, the new tenant turned the house into a discotheque and named it Amnesia. The terrace is a huge greenhouse with palm trees, many bars and a pleasantly air-conditioned VIP area that encircles the club on the second floor. The people on the main floor are cooled off in a rather unique fashion: two massive "ice cannons" blasting off cold air at regular intervals.

Pacha Ibiza is the original Ibizan nightclub. It first opened its doors across the bay from the bustling bars of the port area. Today it stands in the center of apartment blocks, bars, casinos and hotels, including El Hotel, which Pacha made its own in 2003.

Pacha's original claim to fame was as a haven for glamorous hippies and the Flower Power production on occasional Sundays still wows the crowd. Even though house music had taken over, in the recent years they have branched out into hip-hop and R&B. It's a change of pace and style but all have a mutual love of the bling!!! Top DJ's like Erick Morillo rub elbows with stars like Tommy Lee and Paris Hilton. Inside there are many different zones and bars, each with their own unique vibe. Although the capacity is over 3,000, Pacha still retains a sense of intimacy. It is the only club to be open year-around.

If you love the nightlife, Ibiza is the place to go.
