Family Cruises Start Booking Your Dream Cruise

The last thing a parent wants to hear on their long awaited vacation, is the fussing of a toddler, or that age-old complaint “I'm bored”. That's why those considering a vacation with their children, should look for ships that offer more in the way of family cruises than standard packages.

There are very few lines that don't provide the amenities to make family cruises enjoyable for both kids and parents. But the extent of what is offered varies by line, sometimes by ship, and occasionally by age of the children. When booking your family's vacation, one of the first things to check, is what activities there are for the age groups your children fall into. In general, cruise lines break their activities for kids into the following: 3-6, 7-9, 10-12, and 13-17 year olds. However, many ships programs will go as low as two years old.

Another consideration will be babysitting services. There are usually group babysitting services, and you can also get in-room service, although that may need to be booked the morning, or even day prior to the time needed. Be aware also, that many lines do not provide babysitting for infants under six months old.

Sometimes parents underestimate how interested their kids will be in what is available both onboard, and onshore during port calls. But if they do happen to be the type that need an outlet for their energy, or some type of activity available at all times, organized or not, you can be sure that there will be something to capture and keep their attention. Features range from indoor and outdoor play areas, to private kids only pools, pizza parties, scavenger hunts, and onshore excursions just for kids, all of which are organized and run by trained childcare professionals.

Mom and Dad can relax on deck, and do their own things onshore, secure in knowing that the children are being taken care of, and having the time of their life.
