Virgin Gorda, the largest island in the British Virgin Islands is sometimes known as The Fat Virgin. Columbus is said to have named the area this because the outline of the island resembles a large woman lying on her back. Few are sure how he was able to see the outline of the island as air travel was hundreds of years in the future but that is the story none the less. The main attraction of Virgin Gorda is the area known as The Baths where large boulders make grottoes that allow the sea to rush in and form pools. The area is said to resemble a Roman bath house of the early days of the Empire. The Virgin Gorda is actually not inhabited at all by any natives. The area is simply a destination for tourists in search of some fun. There are no hotels or houses on the island and it is actually in private hands but the owners do allow people to visit.

Water Sports
Water sports are actually the only form of entertainment to be found on the Virgin Gorda island. Swimming and snorkeling are the two things that the tourists love to take part in when visiting. Others enjoy exploring the island but it is limited as much is fenced off by the owners.

There is no native or current culture on the island as it is in private hands.

Activities
There are no activities as there are no resorts or residences of any kind.
